Man dies after Friday car crash on Fairview Ave.

On Friday at 3:50 p.m. Boise Police responded to a two vehicle crash on Fairview Ave.  An investigation showed that a sedan traveling south on N. Linda Vista Ln. attempted to turn left onto W. Fairview Ave. and was struck by an SUV traveling west on Fairview.  The driver of the SUV was not injured.  The driver of the sedan, an 82-year old adult male was taken to the hospital for injuries.  Evidence showed the male driver of the sedan was at fault for the collision and he was cited for failing to yield on a left turn.  Officers were able to speak with the man and at the time his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.  Officers were notified just before  1:00 a.m. Saturday that the man had passed away.  Boise Police detectives have taken over the investigation and will investigate the crash as a death investigation.  The Ada County Coroner will release the man’s identify pending family notification.
