Boise Police investigate stabbing with multiple victims

At 8:46 pm on June 30, 2018, Boise Police were dispatched to a call regarding a man with a knife at an apartment complex on Wylie Ln and State St. Officers arrived and quickly located the suspect and took him into custody at 8:50 pm as he headed northbound near the apartments.  Additional officers located nine victims inside and outside of the apartments and began providing first aid. The victims were taken to a local hospital and four victims are being treated for life-threatening injuries.  The victims include members of Boise’s refugee community and there are BPD victim witness coordinators and counselors who will be assisting the families and witnesses in the days and weeks ahead.

“As you can imagine the witnesses in the apartment complex along with the rest of our community are reeling from this attack.  This incident is not a representation of our community but a single evil individual who attacked people without provocation that we are aware of at this time,” said Boise Police Chief William Bones. "Our hearts go out to the victims who are in the hospital tonight, please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers."

The suspect is a 30-year-old male. He is being interviewed by Boise Police Detectives. Officers are still investigating why the suspect targeted the victims.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Garden City Police, Ada County Sheriff's Deputies, Idaho State Police as well as Boise Fire and Ada County Paramedics are assisting.  Additional details will be released as they become available.
