Two arrested on drug, firearms charges following lengthy investigation of suspected drug house

Arrested:  Ivan A Garcia, 43, Boise

Charged:  Controlled Substance- Manufacture or Deliver (F), Drug- Trafficking in Heroin (F), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon (F), Controlled Substance- Manufacture (F), Possession of Marijuana (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

At the conclusion of a lengthy narcotics investigation, members of the Boise Police Special Operations Unit and Neighborhood Contact Unit assisted the Metro Violent Crimes Task Force in serving a search warrant on a house on the 1800 block of S. Vista Avenue at just before 5:00 a.m. on Friday.  A search of the house revealed 25 grams of suspected meth, 10 grams of suspected heroin and a large amount of cash.  Also while searching, officers located a firearm in the possession of the home owner, Ivan Garcia, who is prohibited from having a deadly weapon.  Garcia was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on six charges. 

Arrested:  Rocky J. Vitale, 37, Garden City

Charged:  Possession of a Controlled Substance (F), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon (F), Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F), Failure to Appear (F)  

Prior to the search warrant being served, officers observed a man with three felony warrants exiting the house on Thursday evening.  Officers stopped the man, identified as Rocky Vitale, as he walked on Latah Street.  He was taken into custody for the warrants without incident.  He was also found to be in possession of a small baggie containing a crystal-like substance which tested presumptive positive for meth and a firearm.  Vitale is also a prohibited possessor of firearms.  He was booked into the Ada County Jail on three felony warrants and two additional felony charges.
