Self-inflicted gunshot wound suspected following report of a man shot

At 11:48 p.m. on Wednesday Boise Police officers responded to a report of man who had been shot outside of a residence on the 1000 block of Dale Street.  Officers quickly responded and cleared the scene, allowing paramedics to arrive and transport the man to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  BPD Patrol officers set up a perimeter around the area and a search for the reported suspect was conducted using a K9 Unit and members of the Boise Police Special Operations Unit.  BPD Violent Crimes detectives also responded and upon investigation located evidence that the gunshot wound was intentionally self-inflicted, and there wasn’t any threat to public safety.  The case will be routed to the Prosecutor’s Office and charges may be pending.
