BPD Watch log: Officers arrest suspect in overnight stabbing; Officers arrest suspect after road road incident

Arrested: Jeffery Redmond, 22, Nampa

Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

Just after 12:30 am on Saturday Boise Police responded to a fight on the 100 block of S. 6th Street. Upon arrival they found one victim who had been stabbed. Ada County Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police were able to locate a subject matching a description of the suspect sitting in a nearby vehicle. Upon investigation officers were able to determine the subject, Jeffrey Redmond, was the suspect in the stabbing. Redmond was taken into custody. Following further investigation he was taken to the hospital and booked on the above charges.

What happened: A preliminary investigation shows the suspect was arguing with a female inside a vehicle. The victim and another male approached the suspect and a verbal altercation turned into a fight. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.

Arrested: Gregory C. Cessna, 59, Boise

Charges: Aggravated Assault (F) -2 counts, Malicious Injury to property (m)

At 1:55 this afternoon  Boise Police received a report of a road rage incident on S. Orchard Road near the overpass. The victims said a man in another vehicle showed them a handgun and then they heard a loud bang from something hitting the side of the car. The victim’s believed the suspect had fired the gun at their vehicle. Boise Police were able to find a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle headed west on I-84 near Meridian Road. Police performed a traffic stop on the vehicle in Nampa near milepost 35.  Idaho State Police assisted with closing westbound I-84 near the traffic stop for about 15 minutes.  The driver was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a hand gun.  Upon investigation officers learned the suspect threw a rock at the victim's vehicle after displaying the handgun.  The suspect, Gregory Cessna, was taken to the Canyon County Jail and booked on the above charges.
