Correction: Officers investigate deadly crash on W. Fairview Ave.

Correction: The victim's vehicle was stopped in the lane of travel, not along the side of the road.

Wednesday night around 11:15 pm Boise Police responded to an injury accident on W. Fairview Ave. near N. Shamrock Ave.  Upon investigation officers learned that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Fairview struck a man and his vehicle which was stopped in the lane of travel.  The vehicle was parked without any lights on and the victim was struck as he stood outside the vehicle.  The driver of vehicle that hit the victim stopped at the scene.  The victim was subsequently struck by two additional vehicles that did not stop and left the scene.  The victim was pronounced deceased shortly after police arrival.  The initial driver who struck the victim is cooperating with the investigation and no charges have been filed at this time. The identity of the victim will be released by the Ada County Coroner once proper notifications have been made.

Members of the Boise Police Criminal Investigation Division and Crash Scene Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
