Shooting investigation results in one arrest

Boise Police arrested one man following an investigation into a shooting this morning in Boise.  The 25-year-old victim shot herself and her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.   

Arrested: Isaac Saldivar, 28, Boise

Charges: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (F), Grand Theft (F),  IDOC parole violation

What Happened:  At 5:30 am Boise Police were called after a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital. The victim was transported by a friend in a private vehicle.  Officers responded to the hospital and to the location of the shooting at a residence on the 8900 block of W. Shellie Lane.  Suspect, Isaac Saldivar, was at the residence and in possession of the gun used in the shooting.  After an investigation, officers learned Saldivar was prohibited from possessing a firearm and that the gun was stolen.  Saldivar also had a no bond IDOC parole violation warrant for his arrest. After further investigation, Saldivar was taken to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above charges.  The victim is receiving treatment and the investigation is ongoing.
