Around 11:20 am Boise police successfully arrested a wanted suspect who had been refusing police commands and hiding in a residence on Chester Lane for over 9 hours.  His name and charges will be released once he has completed the booking process into the Ada County Jail.

What happened: At 1:45 am Boise Police were called to a domestic incident involving a no contact order. The victim safety left the home prior to police arrival and additional residents in the four apartment complex were evacuated.

The suspect was wanted on several warrants and the Boise Police Special Operations Unit and a police K9 responded to the scene to help take the suspect into custody safely. The Crisis Negotiation Team was also in contact with the suspect but he refused to come out.  Around 11:20 a.m. Boise Police with the assistance of the police K9 found the suspect hiding in the attic and took him into custody without incident.

Two nearby daycares were asked to shelter in place and Pennsylvania St. was shut down between Park Center and Boise Avenue during the investigation.

“It’s always our goal to resolve these situations peacefully and we appreciate the nearby residents for their patience and cooperation,” said Lt. Young. “We also want to thank the many citizens who were inconvenienced by the road closure for their understanding. ”
