Officers investigate several BB gun vandalism cases downtown near State Street

Boise Police Officers are currently investigating multiple reports of vandalism and malicious injury to property near State Street in downtown Boise.  Officers believe there could be additional victims who have yet to file a report and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. 

vandalism 2What Happened:  Officers first began receiving reports at around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday night about windows being shot with what appeared to be a BB gun.  Witness reports indicate the suspects were shooting at random windows from a vehicle in the area of 1st Street and State Street.  More calls came into dispatch from the 5000 block of State Street later in the night.  Officers did not locate the suspects during an area check but did find additional damaged property caused by a BB or pellet gun.  At this time it’s believed at least 10 businesses and 20 windows were damaged. The investigation remains ongoing at this time. 

Suspect Information:  Officers believe that an unknown number of suspects were driving in a blue or dark green Ford Explorer or Chevrolet SUV with no rear plate.     

Call Crime Stoppers:  Anyone in the area who believes their property has been vandalized is urged to file a police report by calling dispatch at 208-377-6790.  If anyone has any information about the person or persons responsible for shooting windows with a BB gun, they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers: at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.    

Officers would also like to hear from anyone in the area who may have surveillance video from last night near State Street.
