Vehicle burglary suspect arrested after attempting to flee

Arrested: Carlos Benites, 22, Caldwell

Charges: Burglary (F), Criminal possession of a financial transaction card (F), Trespass (m)

At 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 7th Boise Police were called to the 9500 block of W. Wichita Street regarding a vehicle burglary.  The victim caught the suspect breaking into his car and confronted him.  The suspect then jumped a fence into a neighbor’s backyard.  Police arrived moments later and as they made contact with the neighbor, the suspect attempted to make entry into the house through a back door.  Police were able to take the suspect into custody and no one was injured.  The suspect, identified as Carlos Benites, was also in possession of a financial transaction card that did not belong to him.  Benites was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above charges.
