Cyclist transported with minor injuries following bike versus pickup collision

Boise Police officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and bicyclist at the intersection of 8th Street and Front Street at 8:11 a.m. on Wednesday.  Evidence indicates the bicycle was traveling eastbound on Front when it approached the crosswalk, which is lined on the street but not controlled by a signal.  The pickup truck was traveling northbound on 8th and stopped at the intersection before proceeding into the intersection to attempt to turn onto Front Street.  The pickup collided with the cyclist in the crosswalk.  The cyclist, a 52-year-old Boise woman, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.  She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  The pickup driver, identified as 24-year-old Gabriel Diaz of Caldwell, was cited for failure to yield.
