Boise Police investigating vehicle that hit pedestrian, fled scene; Anyone with information asked to call dispatch

Officers responded to a hit and run which occurred at just after noon on Friday at the intersection of 8th Street and River Street.  Witnesses report a vehicle struck an adult male pedestrian as he was crossing River on 8th while in the crosswalk.  Evidence indicates the vehicle was travelling eastbound on River when it struck the pedestrian.  The pedestrian was struck by the passenger side of the vehicle and knocked to the ground.  Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The vehicle left the scene of the crash without stopping. 

Vehicle Description:  Witnesses describe the vehicle as being a blue passenger car, possibly an early 2000 model year.  The vehicle could be a Chevrolet Malibu, Monte Carlo, or similar style Buick.  There may be damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
