Update: Cyclist dies after crash with vehicle last week

A cyclist involved in a crash with a vehicle last Tuesday has died from his injuries.  The collision happened on Emerald near Milwaukee last Tuesday, July 18th.  The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 54-year-old Marvin Ott. Ott is from Boise and died from a traumatic blunt force head injury according to the Ada County Coroner.   

Boise Police detectives are still investigating the crash and crash reconstruction is underway. No charges have been filed at this time.

Around 4:45 pm Boise Police responded to a vehicle vs bicycle crash near Milwaukee and Emerald.  A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle and bicycle were both traveling eastbound on Emerald when the crash occurred.  The bicycle was a motorized bicycle and the rider was not wearing a helmet.  The male victim was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.  No citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.
