Man remains hospitalized, woman arrested in connection to home invasion

A man suspected of forcing his way into a Boise home and getting into a fight with the homeowner remains in a Boise hospital while a second suspect has been arrested for her part in the incident.

Arrested:  Brittany M. Wojnarowicz, 23, Boise

Charged:  Burglary (F)

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident that occurred on Wednesday evening.  Evidence indicates the homeowner came home to find the two suspects inside after forcing their way in.  A confrontation followed, at which point the homeowner used a hatchet to fight off the suspects.  The hatchet belonged to the homeowner and was in the home when the burglary occurred.  The suspects appeared to be armed with at least one firearm, possibly another.  As officers arrived on scene they encountered the suspects attempting to leave the area in a vehicle.  Both suspects had hatchets wounds sustained in the encounter.  They were transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The woman, Wojnarowicz, was treated for her injuries and released to police.  The male suspect remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Further charges are pending and the investigation remains ongoing.
