Man taken into custody on warrant for eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor; BPD Watch Log

Arrested:  Daniel R. Oneil, 36, Boise

Charged:  Sexual Exploitation of a Child- Eight Counts (F)

Boise Police officers and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force served an arrest warrant on the suspect, Daniel Oneil, at a business near the area of Rossi Street and Bobwhite Court on Monday afternoon.  The arrest warrant stemmed from a two month investigation which began in December of 2016 when BPD officers received a tip that the suspect was in possession of electronic images of child pornography.  Officers served a search warrant in February of Oneil’s residence and located thousands of images which were sexually exploitative in nature.  Many of the images were of children under the age of eight.  Officers have no evidence that the images involve local children.  The investigation was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for Oneil in early April.  The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail under the above charges.

Boise Police officers responded to a report of a battery at a bar on the 800 block of West Idaho Street at 2:18 a.m. on Sunday.  Witnesses reported that a man had spit on an employee outside of the bar.  Based on witness descriptions, officers located the suspect and attempted to speak with him away from a crowd that had gathered.  The suspect, identified as Hernandez, struggled against the officer and then punched the officer in the side of the face.  The officer was able to place Hernandez under arrest.  As that was taking place, another male attempted to pull the suspect away from officers, obstructing them from doing their duty.  That man, identified as Coloma, was taken into custody.  A search of his person revealed Coloma to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be LSD, as well as a handgun.  Both suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail where they were booked under the above charges.

Arrested:  Kyle W. Kesner, 35, Boise

Charged:  Grand Theft (F), Failure to Appear (F), Failure to Appear- Three Accounts (m), False Personation (m), False Information

While conducting routine patrol of business parking lots on the 1800 block of West Fairview Avenue, officers made contact with an adult male acting suspiciously in the lot at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.  When officers attempted to speak with the man, he provided them with a false name.  Officers were able to correctly identify the man, Kyle Kesner, and learned that he had one felony warrant and three misdemeanor warrants, all for failure to appear.  A search of the vehicle that Kesner was seen exiting earlier revealed several financial transaction cards that did not belong to the suspect.  Officers placed Kesner under arrest and transported him to the Ada County Jail where he was booked under the above charges.
