Drunk driver hits police car

Arrested: Diana Myers, 28, Nampa

Charges: Driving under the Influence (F) (found guilty of two or more violations within 10 years)

Saturday just after 12:30 a.m. a Boise Police officer noticed a vehicle driving eastbound on Highland St. near Longmont Ave. without its headlights on. The car turned into the same parking lot as the officer and the officer signaled to the driver to stop and roll down the window so he could tell them their headlines were not on.  The driver stopped next to the patrol car then continued to drive forward, side swiping the patrol car, before pulling into a parking space.

The officer made contact with the driver, Diana Myers, and noticed she appeared to be intoxicated.  The suspect failed a field sobriety test and an alcohol breath test indicated a .177/.183 BrAC. Myers was taken to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above charge.

There was minor damage to the patrol car.
