Boise woman seen running into traffic with baby arrested for injury to child

Arrested: Crystal L. Knapek, 40, Boise

Charges: Injury to Child (F), Indecent Exposure (m), Resisting and Obstructing Officers (m), Controlled Substance- Use or Under the Influence in a Public Place (m) 

At 8:02 a.m. Friday morning officers were called to W. State and N. Arthur Street after receiving reports that a woman was running in the street while not wearing any clothes and holding a baby.  Information provided to dispatch was that the female had run into traffic and drivers had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the woman and child. When officers arrived they attempted to speak with the woman and soon determined that the child was in danger.  Officers had to physically restrain the suspect to safely take the child. The suspect, Crystal Knapek, was taken to the hospital for evaluation before being placed under arrest and taken to the Ada County Jail on the above charges.  The child is now in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare.
