More charges filed in connection to August homicide of Boise man

Boise Police Officers served a warrant on Tuesday bringing more charges against a Boise man currently in custody in connection to the homicide of Mark Irwin.

Arrested: Anthony Barclay, 19, Boise

Charged: Failure to Notify of Death (F), Destruction of Evidence (F)

Barclay was already in custody in the Ada County Jail and charged with burglary and grand theft after officers located evidence that he and an adult female, identified as Francis March, were in possession of property which belonged to Irwin.  Irwin was found deceased in the foothills in Boise County on August 26.  His death was ruled a homicide, and March was later charged with first degree murder.  Detectives continued to investigate and located evidence, which they passed on to prosecutors.  On Tuesday, a warrant was issued and served on Barclay charging him for failure to notify of a death and destruction of evidence.

Please check the Ada County Court calendar for court dates and times.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.  Investigators continue to ask anyone with any more information to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.

Murder charge filed in connection to the death of Mark Irwin

After two months of investigating, Boise Police have filed a murder charge in the death of Mark Irwin.

Arrested: Francis March, 45, Boise

Charge: 1st degree Murder (F), Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F)

Arrested: Anthony Barclay, 19, Boise

Charge: Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F)

The victim, 61-year-old Mark Irwin, was reported missing in early August and was entered in the NCIC as a missing adult.  His photo and a photo of his missing vehicle were sent to area law enforcement and Boise Police sent out a news release asking the public to be on the lookout for Irwin and his vehicle.   On the afternoon of August 26th, Mark Irwin’s body was found by Boise Police after Boise County deputies located Irwin’s vehicle in the foothills just into Boise County.   Cause of death has yet to be determined by the Ada County Coroner, pending toxicology results.

During the course of their missing person investigation, Boise Police detectives identified two subjects who had been in possession of some personal items belonging to Irwin.  The suspects, Francis March and Anthony Barclay, were arrested on burglary charges and booked into the Ada County Jail on August 25th.  The two had additional charges of burglary and grand theft brought against them on August 26th.  Boise Police continued their investigation and located additional evidence connecting Francis March to the death of Mark Irwin.  The suspects and the victim are known to each other and detectives say the crime was not random. Boise Police detectives and Boise Police Victim-Witness Services have been in close contact with the victim’s family throughout the investigation.  Boise Police would like to thank the Boise County Sheriff’s Office and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the investigation, as well as members of the media and the public for further assisting the investigation.

1st degree murder charges were filed today, October 21st, against Francis March. Barclay remains in custody on the previous burglary and grand theft charges.  Additional charges are pending. Please check the Ada County Court calendar for court dates and times.
