Update: Death Investigation

   The Ada County Coronoer is reporting test results show a woman whose body was found in a canal in April died from an overdose of methamphetmine. At this time, there is no evidence of foul play.

April 17, 2014, 5:55 p.m. - Boise Police continue to work with the Ada County Coronor to try and find out more about the body of a woman found in a canal off State Street this morning. 

At this time, officers say there is no immediate indication of criminal activity and no indication of any public safety threat associated with the case. 

Investigating officers say it is likely the cause of death will be determined by tests that may take some time to complete. 

Officers are still working to find the identity of the woman. 

Additional information will be released as the investigation allows. 



April 17, 2014, 1:20 p.m. - Boise Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found this morning in a canal in Northwest Boise.

Officers were dispatched to the area about 9:00 this morning when a canal company employee found what he thought may be a body in the canal behind the church on the 4700 block of West State Street. When officers and Ada County EMS arrived, they confirmed it was a body. The body was found in several feet of water.

At this time, Boise Police are working with the Ada County Coroner to identify the body, cause of death and other circumstances.
