Car Burglaries linked to Forgery of Stolen Checks; Man driving stolen car also charged with DUI; BPD Daily Watch Log

Arrested: Jeremy J. Debban, 28, Boise

Charged:  Grand Theft (F), DUI - Excessive (m), Petit theft (m), Possession of a controlled substance - marijuana (m), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police responded to a citizens call of a stolen vehicle from a residence near Cherry Lane and South Vista Avenue late Monday night, June 9. The victim reported to officers that an acquaintance may be the suspect. A short time later, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the one reported stolen near West Overland and South Curtis Roads. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Debban. Contacting the driver, officers could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver failed field sobriety tests and a breath alcohol test resulted in a .218/.212. The suspect was arrested on the DUI – Excessive charge. He was also charged with grand theft for the stolen vehicle, petit theft for allegedly taking money belonging to the victim from the car, and for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: Octavious Walker, 25, Jackson, GA

Charged: Burglary – 3 counts (F)

Boise Police and Ada County Sheriff’s detectives arrested the above suspects yesterday following an investigation into forged checks. Investigators have charged the suspects with the above felonies after several vehicle burglaries resulted in stolen wallets and purses. Suspect Griffith is charged with cashing a check stolen from a recent car break-in. The car the suspects were driving also reportedly displayed Idaho license plates recently reported stolen. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.

Charged: Possession of Methamphetamine (F), Possession of marijuana (m), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer on patrol early this morning on the 5100 block of West Mercurio Lane noticed a vehicle parked in a marked handicap space. The vehicle did not have a visible placard or license plate permitting the use of the handicapped space. The officer approached the car and saw a woman sleeping in the driver’s seat. The officer woke the woman. A Boise Police drug detection K9 alerted on the vehicle. Further investigation found the woman to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested her on the above charges. She was booked into the Ada County Jail.


Arrested: Elizabeth Montandon, 30, Boise

Charged: Battery on a law enforcement officer (F), Resisting and obstructing (m), DUI – 2nd offense (m)

Early Wednesday morning, a Boise Police officer on patrol witnessed the driver of a motorcycle drive through a red light. The officer stopped the vehicle and speaking with the driver, could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. During her arrest, she struggled with and kicked one officer in the leg. The suspect, Montandon, was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges
