Call of man hitting squirrels leads to Heroin arrest; Man passed out at gas pump arrested for meth; BPD Daily Watch Log

Arrested: Linda M. Hartwell, 52, Boise

Charged: Trafficking Methamphetamine (F)

As part of an investigation into trafficking methamphetamine, Boise Police Detectives served a search warrant on a home on the 2100 block of South Owyhee Street the afternoon of June 4. Hartwell is a resident at the address. During the search of the residence, detectives located and seized approximately 33.7 grams of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.  Hartwell was arrested and transported to the Ada County Jail where deputies located two additional baggies on her person, one containing a white crystal residue and the other 1.9 grams total package weight of a substance that again tested positive for meth. The investigation is continuing. More arrests are possible.


Arrested: Aaron R. Lehotsky, 25, Boise

Charged:  Trafficking Heroin (F), Cruelty to animals (m), Resisting and obstructing officers (m)

Officers responded to a location near North 23rd and West Bannock Streets Wednesday afternoon, June 4, after a caller to dispatch reported a man chasing and hitting squirrels with a stick. Officers arrived and found the subject uncooperative. After some investigation, officers arrested the man, identified as Lehotsky for cruelty to animals and resisting and obstructing officers. In a search following the arrest, officers found the suspect in possession of two grams of a brown substance that field tested positive for heroin. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.


Arrested: Larry D. Best, 61, Boise

Charged: Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult (F) ISC 18-1505

Boise Police received a report that the suspect had sexual contact with a vulnerable female adult who is mentally disabled and unable to protect herself from exploitation. The contact has occurred on multiple occasions. Detectives from the Boise Police Special Victim’s investigated and submitted their reports to Ada County Prosecutors. A warrant for the suspect was issued on the above charges. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail yesterday, June 5.


Arrested: Patrick G. Bailey, 48, Boise

Charged: Possession of Methamphetamine (F), Unlawful possession of a firearm (f)

Boise Police assisted Probation and Parole Officers in a search of probationer Bailey’s residence Wednesday, June 4.  Officers found the suspect in possession of a handgun.  Bailey is prohibited from possessing firearms. Officers also located two clear plastic baggies with a light colored crystal substance inside.  The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine, approximately 1/2 gram in each baggie. Officers arrested the suspect on the above charges in addition to an agents warrant.

Arrested: Mykola V. Magomadon, 28, Boise

Charged: Possession of Methamphetamine (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police responded to a convenience store on the 8900 block of West Fairview Avenue shortly after midnight June 3 after witnesses reported a driver passed out in his vehicle at the gas pump. Witnesses reported the driver would not wake up. Officers arrived and after pounding on the driver’s side window several times, were able to wake the driver, later identified as Magomadov. Officers noticed the driver appeared impaired. In a consent search of the vehicle, officers found a used syringe and glass pipes. The substance inside the pipes field tested positive for meth. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
