Attempted Robbery: Man reportedly tried to reach into woman's car for her purse

Boise Police are searching for a man who reportedly tried to reach into a woman's car for her purse. The woman grabbed her purse first, pulled out pepper spray and used it on the man. He was last seen running east on Marvin Street. 

What Happened: Boise Police received the call at 8:54 a.m. Officers responded to the location on South Newport at West Marvin Street, just north of Overland Road. The woman tells officers she was sitting in her car parked on Newport Street. Her passenger side window was open. A man approached the car and through the passenger window asked her for change. When she responded she did not have any, the man reportedly reached inside her car for her purse. The woman grabbed the purse, pulled out pepper spray that was inside the bag and sprayed it at the man. He ran off headed eastbound on Marvin.

Suspect description: The suspect is described as a light skinned male in his 30's with facial hair, tall, approx 6;2", wearing a black hoodie with a black T-shirt underneath.
