Update: Officer Suspended following early morning Arrest for Domestic Violence

Update: An additional misdemeanor charge has been filed against the officer currently suspended following an arrest this morning. The additional charge involves an employee of the Ada County Sheriff's Office and occurred during the investigation.

Arrested: Gary Miller, 43, Boise

Charged: Battery (m), Domestic Violence (m).



A Boise Police Officer has been suspended following his arrest early this morning for misdemeanor domestic violence.  The incident occurred at an east Boise home shortly before 5:00 this morning. The arrest was made by an Ada County Sheriff’s deputy.  

Miller's suspension from duty means all his police powers have been suspended pending an internal department investigation.

Charged: Assault, Domestic Violence (m)

Miller has been a Boise Police Officer for 16 years. He is currently assigned to the Bench Patrol Division. In addition to criminal proceedings, Miller is subject to an internal investigation regarding applicable policies of the Boise Police Department. The Boise Police Department demands the highest professional conduct from its officers, both on and off duty, which includes conformance to laws.

Miller is scheduled for arraignment today. Please check court calendars to confirm the time.
