Officers say no threat to public safety after a body was discovered in a West Boise parking lot.

Boise Police continue to investigate the death of a man whose body was found Saturday evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 10,000 block of West Halstead Lane.

No Ongoing Public Safety Threat: After an autopsy conducted this morning involving Boise Police detectives and examiners from the Ada County Coroner's Office, although details of the case remains under investigation, detectives say they do not believe there is any danger to the public connected to the case.

What Happened: A passerby found the body, a man in his 50’s, and called 911 to report it about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014. Officers discovered blood in a car parked a short distance from where the body was located.

Again, the events leading up to the discovery of the body remain under investigation, but at this time officers do not believe there is any ongoing public safety threat connected to the case.

Additional information will be released as the investigation allows.
