Dangerous driving leads to Meth Arrest; Officers Arrest Caregiver for Stealing Patient's Meds; BPD Daily Watch Log

Arrested: Rebekah Ann Poole aka Cooper, 48, Boise

Charged: Burglary 2 counts (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance 2 counts – Prescription Medication (F)

Boise Police officers responded to a residence near South Vista Avenue and West Canal Street on Wednesday, January 29, at 9:00 p.m. for a report of a theft.  Officers spoke with the calling party who believed that Poole, an in home caregiver, had stolen 50 100mg morphine pills from the patient’s prescription bottle during her visit.  As the investigation was ongoing, on Wednesday, February 5, at 1:15 p.m. Boise Police received a second report involving the suspect, Poole, and allegations she stole 24 10mg Oxycodone pills from a prescription bottle during another home visit.  Officers were able to locate Poole and discovered evidence which indicated that Poole had been intentionally entering this patients home three days a week and steeling various medications since mid-November.  Poole was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.


Arrested: Curtis N. Neal, 40, Caldwell

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine (F), DUI (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer assigned to the Night STEP team (DUI and traffic enforcement), on routine patrol, observed a passenger car traveling on North Capitol Boulevard near West Myrtle Street at 2:29 a.m. this morning as it failed to maintain its lane, crossing over the white dotted lane dividers to both the left and right by a tire width.  As he observed the vehicle, the driver turned on his right turn signal and made a left turn crossing two other lanes and attempted to pull into the parking lot of a gas station at North Capitol Boulevard and West Myrtle Street.  The vehicle then went up over the curb, on the sidewalk, through the grass, back down off the curb, and into the parking lot and parked on the west side of the building.  After a short time the vehicle left and pulled out onto Myrtle, failing to signal and turning into a middle lane.  The vehicle then turned left onto North 6th Street northbound.  6th St is a southbound only street.  The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and identified the driver as Neal.  Neal exhibited signs of being under the influence. Neal was arrested for DUI. A blood draw was taken for evidence testing.  Upon further investigation, Neal was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, which field tested positive.  Neal was also in possession of two syringes.  After being evaluated by medical personnel at an area hospital, Neal was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges. The DUI investigation is ongoing.


Arrested: Alexander J. McDorman, 24, Meridian

Charged: Burglary (F)

Boise Police officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 100 block of East Myrtle Street yesterday at 2:17 p.m. for a report of the theft.  Responding officers spoke with witnesses who stated that McDorman entered the store two separate times stealing grocery and household items.  During their investigation officers were able to determine that McDorman had no money and had entered the store with the intent to steal the items, making this charge a felony.  McDorman was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.


Arrested: Benjamin L. Wentworth, 33, Boise

Charged: Injury to Child (F) - Warrant

Boise Police officers were sent to a residence in the 8600 block of West Rifleman Street on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 6:33 p.m.  for a report of injury to a child.  A witness reported that Wentworth had left marks and bruises on the child on separate occasions.  The victim was known to Wentworth.  A Boise Police detective from the Special Victims Unit conducted a lengthy and thorough investigation. The officer's report was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutors office.  Wentworth was arrested on a felony warrant for injury to child on Wednesday, February 5 and booked into the Ada County Jail.
