Boise, Dec, 17, 2013 - Boise Police responded to the city's busiest shopping area this afternoon following a report of an armed robbery at a shoe store on the 500 block of North Milwaukee Street near Westpark Street.

"The presence of mind of the victim, reporting the crime quickly with an accurate suspect description, and the quick response of officers made all the difference in finding this suspect so quickly," said Sgt. Jeff Basterrechea of the Boise Police Patrol Division.

What Happened: Dispatchers alerted officers to the robbery at 4:22 p.m. The victim reported the crime just moments after it occurred. The victim said a woman had walked into the store, walked up to the clerk, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was last seen leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two officers entered the lobby of a hotel on the 7900 block of West Emerald just around the corner from where the robbery occurred. At 4:32 p.m., just ten minutes after the robbery report, they saw a woman matching the description, made contact with her and found evidence she was indeed the robbery suspect.
