Battery on an Officer and Drug Possession arrests; Daily incident report

Arrested: Caleb M. Brubaker, 22, Boise

Charges: Assault or Battery on an Officer (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident (m), Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police responded to a citizen report of a vehicle crash on the 2300 block of South pacific St. early this morning, December 5th, at 4:08 a.m. The calling party tells officers he did not witness the crash itself. Officers located a pickup sitting on the sidewalk after having crashed into a traffic signal pole and a large rock. The driver was not present and the vehicle had extensive damage.

Using evidence collected at the crash site, officers located the suspect driver at a home on the 2300 block of South Pacific Street a short time later. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, was found in a bedroom laying close to a shotgun. When officers attempted to remove the shotgun from the suspect's immediate reach the man grabbed the shotgun and a struggle took place. Officers managed to wrestle the weapon away from the suspect, who continued to resist officers until he was physically taken into custody. The suspect failed several field sobriety tests and later blew a .14/.13. Officers also recovered a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain site on a dresser in the suspect's room.  The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

Arrested: Ashley N. Mcdonald, 27, Boise

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Warrant charge for Failure to Appear (m)

Boise Police responded to a citizen report of a wanted person at a hotel on the 1600 block of West Main St. yesterday, December 4th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Officers confirmed the warrant through Boise City Records before responding to the suspect's room. A search of the suspect's person after her arrest revealed a small amount of meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

Warrant Arrested: Joseph J. Vrba, 46, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Grand Theft (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a vehicle the suspect refused to return to its owner. Evidence indicates the suspect was instructed to return the vehicle in October of 2012. The suspect did not return the vehicle. The vehicle was entered as a stolen car and officers later recovered the vehicle from the suspect's residence in Boise in July of this year. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
