Traffic Stops lead to Arrests for Possession of Meth and Prescription Meds; BPD Weekend Incident Report

Arrested: Troy T.E. Benham, 46, Boise

Charged: Controlled Substance Violation - Meth (F), Parole Violation Warrant

A Boise Police officer on patrol Monday, November 11 shortly after 9:00 a.m. made a traffic stop near South Orchard Street and West Overland Road on a vehicle for expired registration. Contacting the driver, the officer found, identified as Benham, officers found he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a probation violation. The suspect was arrested on a warrant. In a subsequent search of the suspect's vehicle, officers found a baggie with a white crystalline substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Officers booked the suspect into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.


Arrested: Markee R. Cook, 22 Boise

Charged: Battery on a law officer (F) ISC 18-915, Resisting and obstructing officers (m), Possession of an open container of alcohol (m) BCC 6-01-15

Boise Police were called to a disturbance Friday night, November 8th about 8:30 p.m. at a home in the area of West Fairview Ave and North Cloverdale Rd. The suspect, Cook was reported to be at the home of an acquaintance and refusing to leave. When officers arrived, they talked with the suspect, told her the resident did not want her on the property and asked her to leave peacefully. The suspect had an open container of beer and walked onto the street carrying the beer. She refused to leave and was screaming and yelling. When officers went to take her into custody she began swinging her arms, striking two officers, one in the face, another in the chest and shoulder. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges. 


Arrested: Seth A. Curtiss, 19, Boise

Charged: Controlled Substance Violation - Morphine and Methadone (F) 2 counts, Concealed weapons violation (m), Prescription in other than the original canister (m)

Boise Police patrol officers pulled into a parking lot on the 5600 block of West Fairview Avenue shortly before 1:00 this morning after noticing that the driver of a Chevy sedan appeared to be following the marked patrol car and possibly trying to get the officers attention. The driver also pulled into the lot. When an officer went to speak with the driver, the driver shifted positions exposing what appeared to be the grip of a pistol under his right leg. A second officer saw in plain view inside the car a plastic baggie containing what looked like numerous miscellaneous prescription medications and a syringe containing liquid. Further investigation found the substances to be Morphine tablets and the syringe contained methadone. Officers found the suspect did not have a prescription for any of the medications and they were not in the original containers. The suspect indicated to the officers that he had recently received a traffic ticket and he was following the officers to speak with them about potential unsafe driving behavior. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: James T. Perkins, 37, Boise

Charged: Controlled Substance Violation - Meth (F), Possession of marijuana (m), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m), Driving without privileges (m)

Arrested: Krystal S, Thomson, 27, Boise

Charged: Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

A Boise Police officer traveling westbound on Interstate 84 last night stopped a vehicle for speeding near the Orchard Street exit. As the officer made contact with the driver, Perkins, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the car. A Boise Police drug detection K9 was called to assist. The dog, Jackson alerted to the vehicle. Officers then found a pipe with a small amount of unused methamphetamine inside along with a small amount of marijuana in the driver's possession. A search of the vehicle revealed a ziplock baggie containing approximately .6 grams of suspected methamphetamine in a pink make up bag in the backseat, along with used spoons and numerous hypodermic needles, items found to belong to Hurd. Hurd also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on a probation violation. Officers also found two used hypodermic needles belonging to Thomson. The driver, Perkins had a suspended driver's license due to previous traffic violations. Officers arrested the suspects on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.
