Officers arrest dangerous suspect with citizens help; Weekend incident report

  Arrested: Adrian Lopez, 40, Ft Lupton CO.

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a bar near South Vista Avenue and Kootenai Street early Sunday morning, October 20th, at approximately 1:36 a.m. Employees and witnesses in the bar tell police the suspect entered the bar looking for a phone. At one point, the victim tells police the suspect produced a knife, held it to her stomach and demanded money. Witnesses say the suspect reached into the cash register to grab money when the victim began screaming and struggling. Other patrons and witnesses in the bar jumped in and started fighting with the suspect. The patrons were able to wrestle the suspect out the door. During the struggle the suspect dropped the knife and it was recovered from the floor of the bar.

   Using detailed information obtained by witnesses, officers located the suspect a short time later at a restaurant on the 2300 block of South vista. After a detailed investigation into the robbery the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 65 ROBBERY 18-6501. Robbery defined. Robbery is the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear.


    Arrested: Carlos M. Luna, 34, Garden City

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Failure to Notify upon Striking Fixtures)(m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a hit and run crash on westbound I-84 at the Franklin off ramp early this morning, October 21st, at approximately 1:00 a.m. A witness to the crash tells police a passenger car struck the jersey barrier before becoming disabled. According to the witness two individuals ran from the crash. The witness assisted police in locating the two individuals a short time later in a nearby parking lot. Officers determined that Carlos Luna was the driver of the vehicle. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .30/.30 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had a prior convictions for felony DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.


   Warrant Arrested: Ethel L. Gatlin, 57, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Sexual Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Sexual Exploitation of a Vulnerable Adult Friday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into inappropriate sexual conduct between the suspect and a vulnerable adult at more than one location in Boise during 2012. Evidence indicates the suspect was aware that the victim was a vulnerable adult at the time the illegal sexual conduct took place. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.


   Arrested: Dee F. Daley, 56, Sandy UT.

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a problem subject at a hotel on the 3300 block of Vista Avenue Saturday, October 19th, at approximately 8:15 p.m. Employees tell police the suspect entered the hotel and used a false room number to obtain food and alcohol without paying. A short time later employees determined the suspect was not a guest of the hotel and did not have a way to pay for the services. After a detailed investigation into the circumstances the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
