Package delivery ends in Felony drug delivery charge

   Arrested: Ryan E. Ricks, 23, Boise

   Charges: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) (F)

    Boise Police Narcotics Detectives, working with U.S. Postal Inspectors arrested Ryan Ricks Friday evening, September 6th, as part of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of marijuana. U.S. Postal inspectors requested Boise Police detectives to assist them in the investigation approximately one month ago.

   During the course of the investigation detectives determined the suspect received a package through the U.S. mail containing approximately 2.25 pounds total package weight of marijuana. The package was received Friday evening at a home on the 2800 block of West Agate Street. Shortly after the package was delivered detectives arrested the suspect. Detectives have evidence that indicates the suspect has been involved in the sale of marijuana in our community. The controlled substance is valued at approximately $3,500.00. The investigation into this case is still ongoing at this time. 

   About BANDIT: The Boise Police BANDIT Task Force investigates illegal drug sales and trafficking, as well as gambling and prostitution. Detectives with B.A.N.D.I.T. (Boise Area Narcotics and Drug Interdiction Task Force), are commissioned to protect the community from illegal activity.
