Threats with a knife at a Boise home end in Felony arrest; Daily incident report

Arrested: Sean A. Nihill, 38, Boise

Charges: Aggravated Assault (F), Battery (m)

Boise Police responded to a report of a fight at a residence near West Fairview Avenue and Cole Road last night, July 9th, at approximately 10:00 p.m. Officers located the suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, sleeping in the grass in front of the home. The adult male victim, who is well known to the suspect, tells police Sean Nihill was a guest in the home and had consumed alcohol prior to the incident. According to witnesses at one point the suspect became angry at the victim and hit him in the chest. The suspect then straddled the victim, who was on the floor, while holding a knife. The victim tells police the suspect threatened him with the knife. The victim tells police he feared for his life during the incident. The victim fled the residence a few minutes later and called police. Due to the suspect's level of intoxication he was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for his safety. After being cleared by medical personnel the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905. Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

Car versus pedestrian collision underlines the need for caution when driving or riding this summer.
Officers responded to a report of a bicycle versus vehicle collision that took place near South Leadville and West Boise Avenue last night, July 9th, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Initial reports indicate the bicyclist, an adult female, may have been travelling North on Leadville turning East when the collision with a passenger car took place. The bicycle rider was not wearing a helmet at the time and initial reports indicate the rider may have been travelling against traffic, possibly contributing to the accident. The rider was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be potentially serious injuries at the time. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing and no citations have been issued at this time.

Warrant Arrested: Michael J. Thompson, 25, Gooding

Warrant Charges: Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for delivery of a controlled substance yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing BANDIT Task Force investigation into the sale of a small amount of marijuana in January of 2013. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that indicates the suspect was involved in the sale of marijuana in our community. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant. Further inquiries into this case should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

About BANDIT: The Boise Police BANDIT Task Force investigates illegal drug sales and trafficking, as well as gambling and prostitution. Detectives with B.A.N.D.I.T. (Boise Area Narcotics and Drug Interdiction Task Force), are commissioned to protect the community from illegal activity.
