Two suspects arrested in retail crime ring; more arrests likely

Warrant Arrested: Peggy S. Williams, 47, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

Warrant Arrested: Lex G. Lowman, 49, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

The suspects were taken into custody on outstanding felony warrants for Burglary Monday.

The arrest warrants stem from an ongoing investigation by Boise Police Organized Retail Crimes Detectives into one theft at a retail store that took place on March 13th of this year. On that date, evidence indicates the suspects entered a retail store on the 600 block of North Milwaukee Street in Boise and concealed a stereo in a duffel bag they had brought with them. The suspects removed a security device and exited the store without paying for the item.  That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

As officers conducted the investigation, they obtained evidence that indicates the suspects may have been involved in a series of thefts over the past several months at retailers in our region. These two suspects appear to have been working with others to steal merchandise from more than a dozen retail stores across the valley on several occasions over the past year. Further charges may be pending in this case and other suspects are under investigation at this time.

The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.
