Motorcycle Crash on Fairview Ave. turns Fatal

Boise, May 27, 2013 - Boise Police say the driver of a motorcycle has died from his injuries after a crash on Fairview Ave. last night at approximately 10:30 p.m..

What Happened: Boise Police investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound in the far right lane when he collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound and turning left (north) onto Bryson Rd., just east of Cloverdale Rd.

Several witnesses tell officers the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and was passing vehicles on the right as he traveled down Fairview. The motorcyclist, a young man from Boise, was transported to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later. A passenger in the vehicle was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not inured. The crash is still under investigation.

The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear at the time of the crash.
