May is National Bike Safety Month!

BPD and ACHD work toward keeping our roads safe for everyone!

The Boise Police Department is posting daily cycling safety tips on the BPD Facebook page, including Boise bike ordinances to how to choose a properly fitting helmet to the safest way to cross an intersection. 

Ada County Bike Survey: You may notice people standing at intersections carrying clipboards and binoculars this month. Volunteers, working with the Ada County Highway District are using conducting a bicycle survey to be used in future transportation planning. You can access a map with the designated volunteer locations by clicking here. The survey will take place during the month of May. You are most likely to see volunteers at these locations Tuesday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Give tyhem a wave as they are volunteering to make our roads safer!

For bicycle riders and motorists May is a month to raise awareness of bicycle safety and remind ourselves that it only takes a few extra moments to watch out for the other guy!
