Fatal pedestrian vehicle collision

Update: The Ada County Coroner has identified the man killed as Kelly Summers, 44 of Boise. The driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.



   Boise Police detectives are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian overnight that has resulted in the death of the pedestrian.

  What happened: Officers received the report of a crash involving a pedestrian at 36th and Anderson Street last night, March 6th, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Witnesses tell police the victim, an adult male, stepped into traffic as he began to cross the road. Witnesses say the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and it was dark at the time of the incident. A vehicle traveling south on 36th Street struck the pedestrian as he was crossing 36th from west to east. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries at the time. Boise Police were informed by medical personnel that the man died several hours later at the hospital. 

The identity of the victim will be released by the Ada County Coroners Office. 

The investigation into this tragic incident continues. No citations have been issued and no further information is available at this time.
