Boise Police arrested two suspects following a detailed investigation into retail theft at a hotel in Boise at approximately noon today, February 15th. Evidence obtained by Boise Police Organized Retail Crimes officers indicates the two male suspects have been involved in multiple fraudulent transactions at approximately ten stores in the area. Boise Police received a call from a local bank indicating the suspects had been using fraudulent credit cards to obtain gift cards at local stores with losses estimated to be in the thousands. When officers located the suspects at an East Boise hotel, they recovered multiple fraudulent credit cards and numerous gift cads the suspects had obtained in the scheme. Investigators believe the suspects would travel from city to city committing the crimes. Other charges may be pending.

The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.
