Arrested: Mark R. Moreland, 24, Boise

Charged: Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F), multiple counts

Boise Police began investigating this case in September of 2012 after receiving reports that two minor children had been repeatedly sexually abused by the suspect at different locations in Boise over a period of several years. The two victims and the suspect are known to each other. The investigation, done by detectives with the Boise Police Special Victim's Unit resulted in the above charges being brought against Moreland and a warrant for his arrest issued last week. Moreland turned himself into the Ada County Jail yesterday. Ada County Prosecutors will be the contact for further information in this case. The victims are receiving support and assistance from members of the Boise Police Victim-Witness Services unit.

Charged: Grand Theft, 2 cts (F), Forgery (F)

Boise Police arrested the suspect early this morning after investigating a report yesterday of a man trying to cash stolen checks at a Boise bank. Following up on the report, officers learned the checks had apparently been stolen recently from a home near Weiser and reported to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Thanks to cooperation with detectives from Washington County, Boise Police learned the suspect and the theft victim's are known to each other. Further investigation revealed the suspect had allegedly taken two checks from the victim's home and had already cashed one for an amount in excess of $1,000. Boise officers located the suspect at his home in east Boise this morning. He was questioned, arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: James Scott Keller, Jr, 18, Boise

Charged: Failing to Register as a Sex Offender (F)

Boise Police officers on patrol in the area of S. Phillippi and Kootenai Streets shortly after midnight this morning observed a young man wearing dark clothing and walking down the middle of the street smoking a cigarette. An officer stopped to talk with the man. The officer obtained an identity that showed him as a sex offender registered in Portland, Oregon. Following up, officers learned the suspect has instead been living at a home in Boise for over a month and has not made any attempt to register locally as a sex offender as required by law. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.
