Aggravated Battery and overnight DUI arrests; Daily Incident Report

   Arrested: Joseph P. Ryan, 28, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

    Boise Police responded to a fight at a bar on the 500 block of West Main Street early this morning, January 1st 2013, just before 1:00 a.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect became involved in a physical altercation with the victim. At one point, witnesses say the suspect threw a glass bottle at the victim, causing a deep cut in the victims forehead. According to witnesses the suspect then punched the victim, who was on the ground, repeatedly, before being detained. The victim was transported to a local hospital for care. Officers believe alcohol was  factor in this incident. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-907. Aggravated battery defined. (1) A person commits aggravated battery who, in committing battery: (a)Causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement; or (b)Uses a deadly weapon or instrument; 


The overnight arrests in the City of Boise resulting in approximately five misdemeanor DUI Arrests.
