Turn signal violation leads to drug possession arrest; Weekend incident report

Arrested: Christina M. Smith, 26, Boise

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Probation Violation charges (F)

Boise Police on patrol Friday evening, October 12th, at approximately 11:00 p.m. observed a vehicle fail to perform a proper signal before turning on the 5400 block of West Fairview Avenue. Officers determined the suspect, Christina Smith, is on Felony probation and was currently wanted on probation violation charges. A search of the suspect's person revealed a baggie containing approximately 4 grams total package weight of meth. Officers also recovered a homeade smoking device and a used syringe from the vehicle. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

Warrant Arrested: Todd Olshefski, 43, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Forgery (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Forgery Sunday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into several checks passed at local merchants starting in May of this year. The crime was reported to police in June of this year and detectives began a detailed investigation. Evidence indicates the suspect used fraudulent information to obtain goods and services through the use of fraudulent checks that exceeded $1,000.00. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
