Kids see bag on a roof, leads to felony drug charge; BPD Daily Incident Report

Arrested:  John L. Green, 50, Boise

Charged: Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana (F), Concealment of Evidence (F)

Arrested:  Michelle Barela, 42, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine (F)

Boise Police were requested  to assist Probation and Parole Agents Thursday afternoon, June 7, for a search of the home of John Green, a Parolee with a 4th amendment waiver living on the 3900 block of W. Alpine. While searching the apartment, officers found suspect Barela in possession of .7 grams (point-seven) of methamphetamine . Suspect Green was arrested on an agents warrant. While being arrested, several  children who live in the complex came up to officers and asked why a bag was on the roof. Officers looked up and saw a window to the suspect’s apartment was open and indeed, a bag was on the roof. Officers called firefighters from the  Boise Fire Department to respond and retrieve the bag. Officers found evidence the bag belonged to the suspect Green. It contained 7.6 oz of marijuana, a scale and baggies.  The suspects were booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.
