Theft of a laptop lands suspect in jail on Felony charges; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Ryan M. McCoy, 32, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a Burglary at a retail store on the 1700 block of North Cole Road yesterday, May 15th, at approximately 4:30 p.m. The store owner tells police the suspect entered the store when he was in a back room. When the owner returned to the sales floor he tells police he observed the suspect with a laptop computer. The victim tells police the suspect then exited the store carrying the stolen laptop computer. The store owner tells police he confronted the suspect and attempted to get the computer back. During the struggle the suspect was struck several times and the laptop was left behind. Officers located the suspect in the area a short time later. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


    Arrested: Chad D. Simpson, 27, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and conducted a traffic stop near Five Mile and West Ustick early this morning, May 16th, at approximately 1:30 a.m.  As officers contacted the driver, they received consent to search the vehicle. An Ada County Police K-9 also alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the suspect revealed a glass pipe and approximately .7 grams of Meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
