Retail theft scheme lands two suspects in jail on Felony charges; Daily incident report

   Arrested: David S. Bonilla, 44, Vannuys CA.

   Charges: 2 Counts of Burglary (F)

   Arrested: Hugo R.  Aguilar Jr, 35, Los Angeles CA.

   Charges: 2 Counts of Burglary (F)

    Boise Police retail crimes investigators identified two suspects at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street yesterday, May 16th, at approximately 4:00 p.m. as part of an ongoing effort to identify credit cart theft rings.  Store employees tell police that the suspects used a false credit card to make purchases. As officers identified the suspects and prepared to make contact with them, the suspects attempted to make another purchase at a different store using counterfeit credit cards. Officers conducted a traffic stop and recovered dozens of counterfeit credit cards, false identification and items that had been purchased at various stores in the area. After a detailed investigation, the suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. BPD Dectectives and investigators would like to thank the U.S. Secret Service for their help in this investigation. The investigation into this crime continues, more charges may be pending. 

    The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

   Arrested: William J. Scott Jr, 34, Boise

   Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F), Public Intoxication (M)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person damaging property near Ustick and Christine late last night, May 16th, at approximately 10:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, was on foot in the area and had been causing damage to private property. At one point, a victim tells police the suspect threw a plastic electrical case at a passing car, causing damage to the vehicle. Witnesses tell police they observed the suspect break the drivers window out of a nearby parked vehicle and attempt to break the window out of a business. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.


    Arrested: Viet Q. Ngo, 20, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m)

   Boise Police on patrol early this morning, May 17th, just after midnight observed a vehicle fail to yield to a stop sign and conducted a traffic stop near Nez Perce and Pacific street. As officers contacted the driver, they noted the distinct odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the suspect's person revealed a small amount of marijuana and three prescription pills the suspect did not have a prescription for.  The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
