Repeat Shoplifters and a Felony DUI; BPD Daily Incident Report

Arrested: Nikolas W. Holling, 20, Ontario, OR

Arrested: Adam T. Sloan, 25, Ontario, OR

Both Charged: Burglary 2 counts (F), Grand Theft (F)

Boise Police were called to a burglary in progress at a large retailer on the 8100 blk of W. Fairview Ave Tuesday, April 17, shortly after 7:00 p.m. When officers arrived, store employees had one suspect detained, the other was spotted by officers and detained outside the store. After investigating, officers found evidence the two had entered the store and worked together to conceal several cosmetic items and left the store without paying. Officers also found evidence the pair had committed the same crime at at least two other stores on Tuesday and again earlier last month. They were arrested on the above charges.

Grand theft  (1)(a)8.   When any series of thefts, comprised of individual thefts having a value of one thousand dollars ($1,000) or less, are part of a common scheme or plan, the thefts may be aggregated in one (1) count and the sum of the value of all of the thefts shall be the value considered in determining whether the value exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000)


Arrested: Jared K. Yost, 30, Boise

Charged: DUI (F)

A Boise Police officer on patrol at 1:46 this morning witnessed a pickup travelling west on W. State Street near N. 31st Street fail to maintain its lane of travel. The officer made a traffic stop and contacted the driver of the pickup truck who was identified as Yost. The officer says when the suspect spoke, he slurred his words and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the suspect. The driver's eyes also appeared red and glassy. The suspect failed field sobriety tests. An alcohol breath test indicated a .207/.206 BrAC. Officers found the suspect Yost has two prior DUI convictions, one in June, 2004 and a second in February, 2005 making this a third DUI offense within 10 years and a felony.
