02-17-12 Broken headlight leads to multiple Felony charges; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Charles W. Buffington, 46, Transient

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle with only one headlight Southbound on Curtis early this morning, February 17th at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near Curtis and Emerald streets. As officers contacted the driver they determined the suspect was a registered sex offender and had not been reporting his change of address to authorities as required by state law. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. A search of the suspects person revealed two baggies containing approximately .5 grams total package weight of meth. A search of the suspect's vehicle revealed needles, razor blades and other items of paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.


   Arrested: Heather E. Legg, 39, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

    Boise Police contacted the suspect near Cloverdale and the overpass as part of an ongoing investigation into a theft yesterday, February 16th at approximately 8:00 p.m. As the investigation progressed, officers determined the incident may be a civil issue. With the permission of the suspect officers retrieved cash from the suspects purse that was in dispute. As officers looked in the bag they observed a baggie containing .5 grams total package weight of meth and other items of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
