Arrested: Michael J. Stwan, 45, Garden City
Charged: Grand Theft (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance - Meth (F), Agents Warrant (F)

    Boise Police took a report of a theft that occurred Saturday, Dec. 3rd at approximately 9:25 a.m. at a State Street grocery store. The victim told officers she was at the customer service counter when she set an envelope containing several hundred dollars in cash on the counter next to her iPhone. She walked a short distance away to look at some merchandise and when she returned to the counter her phone and the envelope were gone. After investigating, and with the help of security footage, officers were able to identify a man who had been at the customer service counter at the time the woman says the theft occurred. Officers then found evidence, including the stolen phone which led to the suspect's arrest. As the suspect was being booked into the Ada County Jail, deputies found him in possession of a small amount of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Charged: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police were called by employees of a grocery store on the 100 block of  E. Myrtle Street Monday afternoon. The employees told officers they had witnessed the suspect conceal over-the-counter medications and leave the store without paying. The suspect was detained by employees until officers arrived.
