12-26-11 DUI, Drug Arrests; Holiday Weekend Incident Report

Arrested: Corynn C. Hower, 23, Boise

Charged (warrant arrest): Desertion and Nonsupport of Child (F) ISC 18-401 

    Boise Police were called by a citizen Wednesday, Dec. 21st who told officers they were an acquaintance of the suspect, Hower. The acquaintance told officers they had the suspect's toddler age child at their home. According to witnesses, the suspect left her child at the home of an acquaintance on Sunday, Dec. 18th and was supposed to return in an hour to pick up the child. Instead, the suspect never did come back for the child. Other evidence gathered by officers led them to believe the suspect no longer wanted custody of the toddler. Patrol officers contacted BPD SVU detectives, who placed the child in the protective custody of Idaho State Health & Welfare Wednesday afternoon. The suspect was contacted by officers and informed the child had been placed into protective custody. She was arrested on the above charge Friday afternoon, Dec. 23rd. 


Arrested: Kelly L. Baker, 36, Boise
Charged: DUI (F), Domestic battery (m)

    Boise Police responded to a family fight in progress at a home in the area of W. DeMeyer St and N. Cloverdale Road Saturday morning,  Dec 24th at about 3:35 a.m. After investigating, the suspect, Baker, was arrested for domestic battery. During the investigation, officers found evidence the suspect was intoxicated. At the Jail, the suspect Baker waived his rights and agreed to speak to officers about driving while intoxicated.  Baker displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Baker submitted two breath samples that returned a .141/.133.  Kelly has 3 previous DUIs and was found guilty of felony DUI on Dec. 13, 2001, making this arrest his second felony DUI.


Arrested: John Gable, Jr., 62, Boise
Charged: Possession of a Schedule II Drug Without a Prescription - Morphine (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police officers on patrol Saturday, Dec. 24th shortly after 10:30 p.m. were traveling westbound on Main Street when they witnessed a small sedan fail to come to a complete stop at N. 27th Street and Main and almost strike their patrol car. The officers stopped the vehicle at W. Fairview and N. Orchard St. They found the driver to be the suspect, Gable. The officers could also smell a strong odor marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The suspect gave officers consent to perform a search of his person.  Officers found Gable in possession of four 15mg Morphine pills (Schedule II narcotic drug) without a prescription. Officers also located a marijuana pipe that contained burnt marijuana residue. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.  


Arrested: Robbie D. Wilson, 33, Garden City
Charged: Controlled Substance Violation - Meth (F), Agents Warrant (F)

    Boise Police patrol officers were working near the area of W. State and N. 31st. Streets Sunday morning, Dec. 25th shortly before 4:00 a.m., when they ran the license plate of a vehicle and fund the registered owner of the car had a suspended driver's license and a warrant for her arrest out of Ada County.  Officers saw the vehicle stop in the parking lot of an apartment complex. When they went to speak to the driver, they found it was the suspect, Wilson who identified himself as a friend of the registered owner. Wilson also told officers he was on felony parole. Officers contacted Wilson's Parole Office who asked officers to assist him with a search of the vehicle. Looking inside the car, officers could clearly see a syringe and a small package of plastic baggies in a compartment in the dash board. In a plastic baggie, officers found 1gram of a substance that field tested presumptive positive for meth. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.


Weekend DUI Arrests:
    Between Friday, Dec 23 and Sunday, Dec. 25th, 17 people were arrested in Ada County for driving while intoxicated. Boise Police made 13 of those arrests. Extra DUI patrols will be on the streets throughout the Treasure Valley through January 2nd.
