11-23-11 Officers Search for Vandal who Slashed Tires on some 30 Cars in the North End

    Boise, Nov. 23 - Officers are asking for the public's help in identifying whoever went on a vandalism spree in Boise's North End this morning, slashing the tires on some 30 parked cars. Officers say most of the cars had more than one tire slashed.

    What Happened: Officers say the vandalism most likely occurred this morning between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The first report came into police at 7:40 a.m. Damage to the tires appears to be from a sharp object about 1/4 -inch wide. Officers have found about 30 vandalized cars parked in alleys, on the street and in driveways all in the area of W. Hays, W. Franklin, N. 5th and N. 6th Streets, and in the alleys west from N. 5th to N. 7th Streets between Hays & Franklin.

    Officers have talked to numerous victims, some of whom are visiting Boise for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

    Crime Stoppers: At this time, investigating officers have no suspect information. Anyone who may know who is responsible for the damage, or anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area between 6 and 7:30 this morning is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, or log onto, or text CRIMES or 274637, subject: Tip236. A citizen can remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of criminal suspects.
