    Boise, August 10, 2011 - A Caldwell man was taken to the hospital with what officers say appear to be serious injuries after trying to cross Capitol Blvd. against traffic. 

    According to officers on the scene, the pedestrian, a 69 year old man with a Caldwell address was walking westbound from the parking lot on the east side of Capitol toward BoDo into traffic headed north on Capitol. Traffic was heavy. The man was hit by a Jeep Cherokee driven by a man also from Caldwell with his two young children inside the car.

    The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with, what appeared to officers at the scene as serious injuries including a head injury.

    Officers say they do not plan to cite to driver of the Jeep. Officers say the driver and his children were traumatized over the incident but not injured.
