07-22-11 Officer recognizes woman with warrant, leads to felony drug arrests; daily incident report

Arrested: Donita M. Anderson, 32, Boise
Charges: DUI (F), DWP (m)

   A Boise Police Night STEP (DUI team) officer on patrol this morning witnessed a vehicle making a turn from S, Braodway Ave onto E. Warm Springs Ave. stop well into the crosswalk approx. 2:00 this morning. The officer stopped the vehicle and could smell the odor of an alcholic beverage coming from the vehicle. He also noticed the driver's speech was slurred and her eyes glassy. The suspect failed field sobriety tests and blew a .142/.144. at the Ada County Jail. Because of two prior DUI convictions, the suspect was charged with a felony. She was also found by officers to be driving on a suspended license.

Arrested: Serenity L. Roberts, 25, Boise
Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance - Meth (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m), outstanding misdemeanor warrants

    A Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officer on patrol in the area of S. Pacific St and W. Targhee St. about 7:30 p.m. last night recognized the passenger in a passing vehicle as a Roberts, who the officer knew had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The officer stopped the vehicle. A Boise Police drug detection dog alerted on the rear of the vehicle, then on several items taken from the vehicle.
    During the search following Robert's arrest, officers found her to be in possession of drug paraphernalia including a glass pipe with white residue believed to be methamphetamine.
    Officers also found the driver, Byrum to be in possession of a baggie with approx 12.6 total package weight of methamphetamine, 3 scales, 19 syringes and a pipe with trace amounts of residue believed to be meth. Both suspects were booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Dominique T. Nichols, 18, Boise
Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance - Hydrocodone (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m), Possession of marijuana (m), Resisting & Obstructing Officers (m), Cited: Public Intoxication (m)

    A Boise Police officer on patrol last night, July 21st, turned into an alley east of S. 9th St. and River St. at approx 9:40 p.m. The officer saw two men in the alley. As he stopped to talk to them, one man, Nichols, appeared fidgety and the officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage as he spoke. Nichols also failed to follow the officers commands to keep his hands out of his pockets. When the officer went to arrest the suspect for public intoxication, the suspect became aggressive and continually refused to obey officer's commands. In a search following his arrest, officers found Nichols to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. In the same baggie, officers found the suspect to be in the possession of several pills of Hydrocodone. The suspect was also found with a glass pipe with burnt marijuana residue. Officers arrested the suspect on the above charged.
