Theft of scrap metal leads to Grand Theft arrest; Daily incident report

05-25-11 Theft of scrap metal leads to Grand Theft arrest; Daily incident report

Arrested: Mike S. Marks, 24, Meridian

Charges: Grand Theft (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

Boise Police received a report of a theft on April 18th of this year. Victims tell police they had arranged to have approximately 42 snowmobile chassis delivered to a scrap yard by the suspect. The suspect was then supposed to return the money for the scrap metal.  The suspect picked up the chassis on April 12th of this year and failed to return the estimated $3,000.00 for the sale. Yesterday, April 24th, after a detailed investigation, detectives located the suspect in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Wilkins and Ustick in Meridian. As the suspect exited the vehicle he became combative with officers. The suspect struggled as detectives placed him in custody, resulting in the Resisting and Obstructing charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

Warrant Arrested: Deboraha A. Angel, 50, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a check the suspect cashed in the victim's name in November of last year. Evidence indicates the suspect cashed the check and has made no attempt to notify the victim or provide the money to her. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
